Finally, the average size of a pénis in erection has been discovered.
According to a recent study, many guys who have been persuaded to have a small sex are perfectly normal.
This should reassure at least one person. In an article published at the beginning of the month, the publication Medical News Today tackled the existential issue that all men have: what is the average pénis size? And, based on dozens of studies (the oldest dating back to 1899), the authors came to the conclusion that the average length of an erection phallus was 12 to 16 cm, while the average circumference was 12 cm. In terms of male average size, the length would be 7 to 10 cm and the circumference would be 9 to 10 cm.
According to an American study published in the Journal of Urology in 1996, the average pénis size was 8,8 cm at rest and 12,9 cm at erection in 80 "physically normal" males. The researchers also discovered that the size of a pénis in erection had no relation to its size at rest, and that there was no correlation between age and sex size in this study. "Only men with a pénis at rest of less than 4 cm or a pénis en érection of less than 7,5 cm can be considered men with a small sex," the authors observe.
Another study, conducted in 2020 on 3300 Italian teenagers aged 17 to 19, found that the average size of a pénis at rest is 9 cm in length and 10 cm in circumference. Four years later, studies involving 1,600 Americans revealed that the average circumference of an erection phallus was 12,2 cm. Another scientific conclusion: the exact dimensions of an erection pénis are dependent on how it is stimulated.
45 percent of men are persuaded to have a little pénis.
However, two troubling findings emerge from the numerous studies on pénis size: men's erroneous view of their own sex and women's desire. As a result, the majority of those who took part in these studies thought their sex was smaller than that of others. Or, as the researchers point out, it's a matter of perspective.
Men, on the other hand, are always focused on their sex's length, whereas women are more concerned with its size. In fact, the pénis circonférence has a much larger role in the quality of a sexual relationship for 9 out of 10 women. This will also be heavily influenced by what a woman is looking for in her life at the time. In a 2015 study published in the journal PLOS ONE, researchers discovered that women preferred a larger pénis for an overnight adventure: 16,25 cm long for 12,7 cm of circumference, versus 16 cm long for 12,2 cm of circumference for a serious story. "In other words, women will prefer different sizes for different reasons at different times, and no one can represent the ideal of a woman based on the type of relationship she seeks," the study concluded.
